Absolute love and respect for the animals living at our park is the principle that has guided us throughout our 50-year history. Because of this, the death of one of them is always a very hard blow to all of us.
With deep sadness, the Loro Parque team regrets to report the sudden death of our beloved orca Kohana.
Kohana had health issues that were identified by our experts some time ago. They did everything in their power to save her life, unfortunately it was not possible.
The memory of Kohana, an animal that we have adored and to which we have dedicated our greatest care, will make our mission even stronger: to provide the best care and well-being to the different species of our animal embassy.
Following the corresponding protocols, specialists from the Institute of Animal Health of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will carry out the necropsy.
