Human impact on the environment continues to escalate. The sixth mass extinction threatens the lives of over a million species. Activities such as hunting, deforestation, and the emission of greenhouse gases, among others, have created an imbalance in ecosystems, endangering many species in their natural environment. Breeding under human care has become essential for the preservation of these species, as they face a high risk in the wild due to human interference.
At Loro Parque, we have established a genetic reserve that plays a crucial role as a safety net for species in their natural habitat. This reserve significantly contributes to biodiversity conservation. Additionally, through the Loro Parque Foundation, we carry out conservation projects worldwide aimed at protecting endangered species and even reintroducing into the wild those species that have become extinct, thanks to our conservation efforts.
