As spring approaches days are getting longer and people are looking for excuses to celebrate love, the animals of Loro Parque also are honouring Saint Valentine and so the courtship stage begins. To help assist the courtship, their carers are preparing unusual ways of presenting their food and enriching their habitat. Cupid comes to all and curious indeed are the courtship behaviours that the different species show with greater intensity at this time of year. Some prepare their nests, others perform their rituals and demonstrations of strength, while the tortoises are more romantic with their slow “pampering and cuddling” to delight all visitors to the most beautiful park in the Canary Islands.
